Transcending Limitations
by Chandan Ishaya
The quickest and most effective way to transcend limitations is to get to the one place where they have never existed in the first place. There are a lot of spiritual teachings out there, teachers, influencers, vloggers and bloggers, life coaches, mindset coaches, and so on. This can make it difficult to find something pure and untouched by the collective concepts and limiting beliefs we all share. Very rare is a being that has left this collective prison that the human mind can be and has led the way out.
My mind used to be full of what appeared to be an infinite number of beliefs and opinions. I see now that they were all limiting my experience of life. Our mind might seem like a valuable and necessary tool that makes us appear superior and more intelligent than other life forms, and it is. However, identifying ourselves with it comes at a very high price - separation. Our mind is a great tool that helps us to navigate life; that's not the issue. The issue is that we have externalised our sense of self to it.
"This voice speaking in our head has never been our authentic self"
The mind has always been a tool, something we are aware of and can use, but it has always been an object to the awareness that we indeed are. This voice speaking in our head has never been our authentic self. So, no matter what it says, identification with it (by itself) is compounding its limitations.
You Are Not Your Thoughts (Even If You Think You Are)
Before I learned to look inward using the Ishayas' Ascension techniques and their guidance, I was not in the slightest bit aware of this. I had a long list of things to fix about myself, my life, and the world at large.
My mind was filled with all these unresolved issues I believed would have to be dealt with before I could (at some future moment) feel happy and complete.
These ideas themselves weren't the problem. But I believed this voice presenting them to me was real. I believed the mind's concerns with all these concepts were my own. I believed this mind talking was my real self, thus its issues reality.
"It is enough to return to a conscious awareness"
The amazing thing about our true self, and the amazing thing I realised, is that it is enough to return to a conscious awareness of our self and the entire mind with all its beliefs and limitations will crumble like a house of cards in a hurricane.
To return to a pure, direct experience of what we are beyond the mind as that which is forever aware of the mind trumps every belief, concept or limitation the mind could ever come up with.
Because experience is untouchable, a belief is one of those cards in the hurricane. This is why I started by saying that the quickest and most effective way to transcend limitations is to reach for the one place where they have never existed in the first place.
Peace Lies Beyond The Moving Mind
We could spend an eternity changing beliefs and mindsets, fighting the limitations we perceive in and through the mind, or we could return to the eternal silence that forever lies, unmoving, beyond the moving mind, where we recognise our true self as having always been untouched by that movement.
All limitations are presented by the mind. Who we are has never been changed or impacted by those limitations. This is the beauty and the magic of the Ishayas' teaching: to ultimately recognise that all is well, nothing ever happened the way we thought, created by the identification with the mind, making the dream appear real.
"Return to an awareness of your true self, and the mind, with all its limitations, will go because it cannot exist there"
All the while, our true self rests forever free and unlimited, and all we have to do is return to a conscious awareness of it. You are free! You have always been free!
Only that what you are not appears to be bound and limited. This is what you are here to experience. Your heart already knows this is true. Return to an awareness of your true self, and the mind, with all its limitations, will go because it cannot exist there. It was never real in the first place. It only appeared real in the ignorance of what is really true. Return to what's true.
