Holey Moley Priya! An amazing story and very inspirational!! We own nothing that is not ours, anything that needs to be with us will be there and the next moment it may not. If we hold nothing and allow life to come and go from us like the waves at the beach we can sit back relax and enjoy our time at the beach. To Grasp at the waves when they come in, dig a trench in the sand to hope any water will fall into it and stay, to fill our buckets up and dare not spill a drop is tiring!! How much more free we are when we lie there allowing the water to pass over us, free as we are :) Thanks!

You must be very grounded in the ascendant to have laughed like that, im just wondering what my reaction would have been!...It is very encourageing to hear this, that in fact all we ever have in any given moment is freedom to hang on or to let go, and yes it does seem scary to let go, but like your experience, when you let go you gained more than you had probably bargained for!...doesnt make sense to the ego does it haha..Many blessings and gratitude for sharing this with us.

"it is simply necessary to unplug from it." Sadly, this is not the answer. I know an Ishaya and her being 'unplugged' has made her a zombie to her family. I just don't get how that is richer. If everyone did this not much would get done. The ability to deal with conflict resolution is definitely non-existent now. I just don't see how that helps.

Not knowing the specifics of your friend and her dynamic with those around her, I can only respond to the general point. While the quote from the blog is taken out of it’s original context, your point is never the less valid. Many people spend most of their time worrying or angry about things that they cannot do anything about. This stresses the body and prevents them from experiencing the richness of this moment. All around you, all of the time is an indescribable richness, fullness and beauty. The reason why most people’s experience of life is not like that is because they spend most of their time caught up in habitual thought. None of the thoughts are present; none of them are about here and now. This unconscious habit is the sole reason that life is not experienced as continuously rich. The state of being present is not at all “zombie like.” It is actually the most alive of states. Sometimes there are those who use the concept of being present to avoid the challenges of life, but this is not an answer, nor is it the result of awareness resting in it’s source. With guidance and willingness this can be seen and let go of, and the richness of what it means to truly live can continue to flower. If you see someone avoiding life, love them enough to tell them. My personal experience of many, many hundreds of people having the courage to discover who they are is that life does indeed continue to become more and more full and vibrant. Sometimes this requires continued guidance and support to move beyond subtle limitations and concepts as they arise. All conflict arises from the holding of positions. Open communication, and listening to those we love, is the best conflict resolution. Thank you for your comment, I hope the response has been of some value.

It is now April 18. Thank you Narain for validating what I thought I already knew. For me disappointment is like a flinching human reaction. I did experience that flinch and then I moved on. I am just going to treat that new truth as a data point from where I can make future decisions. I do know that hiding truth can not be validated. And this is where it all starts to unravel. I continue to wonder what the fear is in dialogue.

Beautifully written old friend, as you know i too lost a love one and my decision not to view the empty vehicle that carried such a beautiful and loving person is something that i certainly do not regret. To remember the person he was, will be different in the eyes of everyone close to him, as they will be remembering the person and not the vehicle that carried that person. A few days before his passing, i sat with my brother and looked into his empty eyes. I knew that he had already gone, his laugh, his zest for love & life, i was looking at an empty vehicle. I loved that vehicle for transporting my brother through his life's journey, but now it has gone, yet my brother will be with me forever... Keep up the great work my friend.
